The Growing Number of People Affected by Illicit Gang Operations

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes (UNODC) focuses on countering drug trafficking and existing crimes. Since its creation in 1997, UNODC has attempted to prevent the consuming and traffic of drugs, while combating the effects these have on its users. This committee helps in the following areas; “organized crime, trafficking, corruption, crime prevention, criminal justice reform, drug abuse prevention, health and terrorism prevention” (unodc.org). UNODC provides programs such as rehabilitation, research, and education to help with the areas.
